Our "ginger tom"

Our Tom was red in tooth & claw
And often laid outside our door
A mouse, a rat, a bird, a bat !
We all will miss him for all of that
He stayed at home when we went away
It was not his nature far to stray
But he was there when we got back
A purr, a brush an outstretched paw
What more could any human say ?
